Leiden, 19 October 2011 – Business Internet service provider Interconnect opens new data center in Eindhoven. The Internet provider from ’s-Hertogenbosch offers its customers even better redundancy thanks to its second location in Eindhoven. The data center will start operations next week. As an Interconnect network partner, network integrator Infradata supplied the routing, switching and network security infrastructure based on Juniper Networks technology.
Interconnect’s strategic choice for an additional data center stems from the increasing trend of organizations to outsource their business-critical applications. Cost reduction and efficiency are the main reasons for outsourcing these applications. Interconnect is responding to this development by offering more security to its customers in the form of geographic redundancy through an additional location.
In order to achieve qualitative growth, Interconnect based its decision on previous experience and opted for solutions by Juniper Networks and the expertise and knowledge of Infradata. Solutions by Juniper Networks are high-quality and provide optimal stability. The choice for a network infrastructure by Juniper Networks in the area of routing, switching and security has the advantage that the new data center is fully equipped with the same operating system JUNOS (‘All JUNOS’), which simplifies administration. Infradata will handle delivery and support at Interconnect.
“By responding to a changing market that demands high-quality service provision in the form of several redundant locations, we laid the foundation for our future growth. Offering efficiency and cost reduction to customers and manageability for us ensure that we play an important role on the business Internet market both now and in the future,” says Jeroen Stevens, CTO of Interconnect.
“The decision to equip the new data center with solutions by Juniper Networks and to rely on support by Infradata stems from our existing, successful relationship. We are increasingly seeing the ‘Infradata Data Center Cloud Proposition,’ which we launched one year ago, being implemented by parties striving for constant high quality,” says Pieter Vogelaar, Sales Director at Infradata. “It is important to note that our cooperation with Interconnect resulted in us once again being selected as the network provider for the new data center.”
